Pat Robertson has said many heinous things over the years. Yet, he's still on tv & people still listen to him. He's like the Palin's, Bachman's, Coulter's, Limbaugh's & Beck's of the world.

Am I surprised that liberals attached themselves to this stupidity? Not at all.

PS...Robertson was telling a joke. Get a freakin life libs!
And a very "Christian" joke at that! Seems the more engaged one is in religion, the more strange they become.

They would be right because liberals like yourself can take everything he says and stereotype all Christians with it, just like you do with the Westboro Baptist Church.

Is Lady Gaga the spokesperson for the Democratic party? Does anything Lady Gaga says or does represent EVERYBODY who voted for Obama?
Didn't Pat Robertson run for president in the Republican primaries in 1988?

I think this sums it up nicely.

Quote:
Evangelicals are hardly a perfect lot, a fact which we are often reminded of and have internalized well. And our cultural indignation is only sometimes righteous. But the evangelical reaction against Robertson’s errant and unfortunate remarks is a hopeful sign not just for evangelicals, but for those who are concerned about the public viability of the institution of marriage. If we can bracket, if only for one moment, the thorny question of who should get married, we might be able to see here the seeds of consensus about the sort of thing marriage should be.

The backlash against Robertson’s remarks by evangelicals and those who also recognized their corrosive effects may not be marriage’s finest moment. But it may provide hope that the civic and religious virtues needed to make the institution of marriage strong are not yet as far gone as cultural critics are sometimes tempted to think.

You realize Europe is more than one country.
And christians, a catholic priest, stated that women are responsible for marital abuse.
Christians on this board say that women who wear "provocative" clothing are responsible if they get raped.

I don't see much difference between christians and muslims.
Not much at all.

It's not a joke out of context.
He says this garbage regularly.

One is bound to make preposterous statements when trying to justify the teachings of a 2000 year old middle-eastern man. Give Robertson a break - he's said far more heinous things about homosexuals.
