Where have role models like the following gone to...what a sad current state of affairs we live in today..

Audie Murphy.....war hero

James Stewart....He became the first major American movie star to wear a military uniform in World WarII...Classy and decent man...

Charlton Heston...Classy and decent man

Jackie Robinson...Military vet and first black player to break the color line

Bobby Orr...One of the greatest hockey defenseman of all time and yet remained humble throughout his entire career and today is active in many local Boston charities..

Mean Joe Greene... considered by many to be one of the greatest NFL defensive linemen ever...involved many charitable events and community initiatives over the years..

Dave Dravecky...was a solid left-handed pitcher for the San Diego Padres and the San Francisco Giants in the 1980s. Sadly, cancer ended his career, as his left arm and shoulder were amputated. Winner of the 1989 Hutch Award for best exemplifying a fighting spirit, Dravecky has written two books and is now a motivational speaker.

Tim Duncan...The longtime San Antonio Spurs star is slam dunk for basketball's Hall of Fame. The low-key Duncan has been a model citizen and a great person off the court. He has his own foundation, donating thousands to help with health education, and other charitable endeavors.

A.C. Green..The former NBA player is a role model in many ways. For one, Green did not miss a single game from 1986 to 2001. In 2011 he was honored with the Bobby Jones Award, for character, leadership and faith in basketball. He also has his own foundation in which he teaches abstinence until marriage to youth

And so many more to list...Where are they now???

Tim Tebow would select an ill child every game and fly them and their family out to the game, give them great seats and then walk them to their car after the game. He created a foundation that is building a children's hospital in the Philippines and has donated to orphanages and cancer research.

But the media did all they could to label him a religious kook simply because he wore his faith on his sleeve, a faith that the majority in this country follow.

No more role models? To be fair, if your role model was some ponce in tights on a bike, you're an idiot.
