I know. But today those 4 states celebrate his Birthday as an official state holiday. I love confederate memorial day. I always take little stars and bars and place them on grave sites of heroes.

1. Didn't know it was locked,I haven't been past first page today 2. This is a different thread. That was about his birthday this is about the actual states celebrating the holiday. But leave it to the anti white trolls to disrupt the thread of course the mlk thread will never be closed but this one will...like I said white hero=evil black hero=good.

Perhaps, but no one else other than you is paying attention to that. No one cares. People want to celebrate Dr. King day today. The people have spoken.

Actually as it usually happens a bunch of self serving corrupt politicians voted to make this a holiday for king....not the people

Thank you for this post. I admire and respect R.E. Lee and I ask for no rebuttals, this is just a statement of my fact.

Thank you for placing the memorials on the gravesites. I had someone placing a flag on the gravesite of a great uncle of mine in Newnan, GA, but I haven't been able to contact my (paid) good samaritan in a while.
We suffered many personal losses during that episode in our history.

Celebrations of Robert E. Lee are certainly no worse than the Occupy protestors sporting Guy Fawkes masks.

Since the latter smugly think of themselves as among the knowledgeable elite, their ignorance of Fawkes' real intentions -- to set up a authoritarian theocracy in England -- makes them just as culpable, philosophically, as those who would overlook the legacy of Lee's leadership of the Southern armies in defense of, among other things, chattel slavery.

There are supposed to have been some Japanese soldiers in their 70's still fighting WW2 on some remote islands a few years back.

They were actually enlisted in the Imperial Japanese Army.

I doubt that confederate conscription applied to those yet born.
