Ask the person who brought it up. But, you won't.

False comparison.
If you believe it is a false comparison, you responded to the wrong post.

You're counting number of accidents, or fatalities there? I think the former? I also assume that many fatalities aren't "accidents".

LOL. Check in your freedoms at the entrance.

Well, I figured that you had no response but to push it off......

Last time I checked this was an open forum, if you don't like being asked questions, I suggest you go somewhere else..

Yes let’s look at Fatal Accident records.

http://webappa.cdc.gov/sasweb/ncipc/leadcaus10.html

Unintentional Injury is the number one cause of death for ages 1 thru 24.

It is the number 5 overall cause of death for all ages.
29,000 people per year die from ingesting some form of poison
22,000+ from falls
3400+ drown
613 die from gun shots.
More people get chopped up by machines than by guns. 659

I think we can all agree that more people die from chemicals brought into the home than from firearms every single year.... and by a HUGE factor... and no one seems to advocate that as a reason to require a license to own bleach.

Let’s dig a bit deeper into numbers for small kids.
For ages 1-4 a child is twice as likely to die from poison (34) than from a gun (18).
A child is 25 times more likely to die from drowning (458) than from a gun

For ages 5 to 9
20 kids died from guns in 2007
Cars: 456
Fires: 136
Drowning: 122
Suffocation 42

For ages 10 to 14
Kids are almost 3 times as likely to die from poison (69) than from firearms (26)

I can go on and on and on.

If you guys were really serious about keeping people alive who die senselessly we would be having a very different conversation.

You need to either admit ignorance about what kills people or you need to admit that the gun debate is NOT about stopping people from dying.

Because freedoms usually extend onto other peoples private property?

Can we come by your house, walk right in fully naked and start eating out of your refrigerator?
