Lets review:

TRAITOR

One who betrays one's country, a cause, or a trust, especially one who commits treason.

A person who is guilty of treason or treachery, in betraying friends, country, a cause or trust, etc.

A person who says one thing and does another.

Sounds like Manning to a T.

If people in the military were out in other countries raping and killing people for no reason, do you think anyone should say anything? Or is anything the USA does abroad OK in your book?

He had a choice between military secrets and justice and he chose justice, something that is supposed to be welcome in this country. He's a traitor but is he on the same level as someone who crossed the enemy lines? Hell no. He fought the actions of this country, not the country itself. I don't think everything that agents of the US do is representative of the USA, do you?
