I'm thinking that's like saying, well, your house burned down just like the one next door, but one of your walls is still standing!
It matters because in spite of loosening gun laws, the violent crime rate and specifically the homicide rate keep declining.

Bentbow -

I say to you what I said below:

James, so assuming that were true (that most guns in crimes are stolen or black market), your concept of keeping gun control nice and loose is going to HELP that?? How?

As to the 2nd Amendment, that was written for MILITIAS, not so a bunch of Rambo-obsessed dudes could go around trying to feel macho by owning guns and hoping a target shows up and they can shoot it.

Chucksnee -

Wait no longer!

Cars have to be registered every year, photos are taken, they cannot be concealed, the right to own them can be stripped, you cannot put a car in your pocket and run away to hide if you kill someone on purpose with your car, you cannot aim well with your car, cars are not designed to aim at a target and kill from far away, in fact, cars do not exist for the SOLE purpose of killing, which is the only purpose of guns. I can go on.

What's more, there's no lobby to keep strict control of car ownership and drivership.

I can go on.

"As to the 2nd Amendment, that was written for MILITIAS, not so a bunch of Rambo-obsessed dudes could go around trying to feel macho by owning guns and hoping a target shows up and they can shoot it."

Even the traitorous Supreme Court has acknowledged the right to keep and bear arms is a right of the people.

The militias belonged to the states and were only to be used by the federal government in case of war, invasion or uprising.

This means the only part of the Second Amendment relevant to the federal government is the requirement that it stay out of the people's business with respect to firearm possesion.

"Cars have to be registered every year"

With the federal government?

I told you already. When things are already in hell, a tiny change EITHER WAY, UP OR DOWN, NORTH OR SOUTH, isn't making any difference. What's your point?

Yeah, and? I'm not getting it. You're not really going to tell me that you have something against tools whose express purpose is to kill, being registered with the federal government, are you? What's this issue you have with the federal government? Or will this start a whole discussion about how you're one of these people who wants secession/state govts running everything/a diminished federal govt, etc.?

I have a different idea waiting for a good time to insert it on the forum but don't want to get accused of trying to steal your thread so will wait a while to share it.

Most leaners don't understand the difference between rights and privileges. Maybe this one is one of them.

You could have fooled me, the way some of you are acting, gun ownership is a requirement!
