To their credit, moderate Kansas republicans are against this nonsense but they are outnumbered by the baggers in the statehouse.
Quite the whining. Move if you don 't like it. Just stay the hell out of Missouri.

States that don't have an income tax see people moving to them in droves, driving up the tax base (there are other taxes, you know). Nevada, Texas, Florida and even the liberal stronghold of Washington have no state income tax.

I don't understand the animosity on this. People should accept taxes as a necessary evil, not a Good Thing. The fact that people are booing a state's effort to reduce the tax burden on its population is both confusing and disconcerting.

You have to remember...the very thought of reducing any taxes, let alone eliminating an entire type, causes LWNJs to soil their little panties.

I didn't realize homosexuals had that much pull in Kansas.

It's high time to stop the gravy train from productive citizens to recipient class members. America was not created to "give" people stuff taken from others.

Eliminating income tax is a good thing....unless you're not a tax payer.

Nonsense is laying about on your azz looking for handouts. (our government doesn't have money....they take it from citizens)

Like the third world countries of Washington and Florida? New Hampshire is a third world country?

Nevada is an EXTREMELY popular place to start a business. I've started two here. Not having to worry about the cost, both in terms of dollars and time, of a state income tax is a very welcome relief for me, both as a business owner and as a citizen.

I really don't get what the problem is, here. If Kansas can afford it, and if the people want it, then what's the problem? It's not like this concept has been proven to fail. In fact, the opposite could be argued. Look at Texas. Look at Washington.

What's with you guys?!

You mean instead of taking personal responsibility and paying taxes to get government services we should rely on free handouts from local charities and churches as Republicans advocate in their "volunteerism" chant?

That's the problem,. Kansas can't afford it. But I agree people elected them (poor, middle class and rich) so they should be OK with it.

Just don't go asking obama or biden for "charity".....they're VERY stingy with THEIR money, as seen in their tax returns.

You're serious?...."taking personal responsibility and paying taxes to get government services"?

If you take personal responsibility, you don't NEED government services.

Good for them and at least the Tea Party members are not tossing bombs, robbing banks, like the Liberals did in the 1960's.
