LMAO...Nah, I had no business getting it THAT wrong in the first place. I'm usually not so myopic.

What mutual protection alliance have we signed with them?

Wow. DC is so corrupting. Rand Paul is now gone over the edge.

This was his father's take on US intervention, and Rand agreed with him at one time.

Now this little ass son of his wants us to spend Trillions defending Israel when they get what's coming to them, spilling our own kids blood as they go about brutalizing Palestinians, stealing their land.

US bases in the middle east....

LOL that's not help??? If the US didn't destabilize pretty much EVERY Islamic nation in the middle east....they probably would have colluded and blown Israel to glass, deservedly, by now.
so what does that have to do with 48,56,67,73,82 or 2006? You know nothing of what you speak so its not wort engaging you now that i think about it

I think the US and Israel work much more closely geopolitically than we, as civilians, will ever know.

When taking into account our world policy interests, intertwined technology industry and corporations, and closely-related defense industries, it may not be all that far off suggesting that an attack on Israel is, in fact, an attack on the US. Israel is probably the US's largest investment in history, maybe not for all the right reasons, but it is.

Will there ever be an end to these convoluted explanations and conspiracy theories?
Why can't people acknowledge the simple fact that US troops never fought in (and for) Israel and more importantly, Israel never asked for that? Syria is destabilized - what that has to do with Israel? (I am still waiting for the statement that Israel is behind that as well). Did US presence prevent Hesbullah or Hamas from fighting Israel? Did US presence diminish Iran's involvement in Lebanon and Syria?
The so called Arab spring - is it because US intends to destabilize Egypt and Libya? (Until last year, US was accused of supporting dictatorships in the region...) At what point will westerners admit that what's happening in Arab countries is first and foremost due to the Arab people?

It's difficult to tell where Israel's self defense turns "offensive", the body count usually turns out to be quite slanted in their favor.
