I have a CHL and keep one handgun, mostly for protection at home. But, I do occasionally go to a hunting shop to see what is on sale.

It's been a few months, and I went into a large, popular chain hunting store - And I was knocked off my feet.

The handgun shelves were nearly empty, and the shotgun and rifle specials (kept on the floor at low prices) were almost all gone.

This place never really carried many of the large clip Semi-auto rifles, but I did not see any on the shelves behind the hand gun displays (where the better rifes and shotguns are kept).

I've been reading that people were stocking up...But seeing it is something else.

Even the stock at Walmart here is bare bones.

Red's indoor shooting range, has had a boom in clientele, familiarizing themselves with their new guns, of all kinds. No longer can you just walk in and buy a box of shells and start popping rounds off. It is by appointment only.

I think I have seen, today, some information that tells a lot about why we find that happening. I planned for over a year to buy a handgun and when I finally did it on December 11 it may have been too late in that Obama and his Democrat Congressional supporters intend to take all our guns. Yes, Feinstein is after anything that is semi-automatic.

When enough people learn what I am about to post it will become very obvious why people are buying guns as fast as they can. I think that Obama has already started getting ready to take we civilians out when the time arrives and that would be after they make their coming gun grab.

The Obama/Fineswine semi-auto scare is the biggest boost to gun sales, especially scary black rifles, in decades. I had picked up some AR lowers a few months ago, before the rush, with the plan to build up some for different uses. I want a long range target/varmint gun, which the AR excels at. Started looking for parts (upper receiver, bolt carrier group, barrel, trigger, etc) and you can't find them in stock anywhere. If some show up, they are cleaned out in minutes. Our local store is limiting ammo to two boxes per caliber...when they can get some. And ammo prices are up 30%.

I'm hoping all the stupidity from the anti-gun wackos dies down pretty soon and things go back to normal.

There is a bright side...everyone that always wanted an AR but hadn't gotten around to spending the money now has. Meaning that a lot more people are seeing how much fun they are to shoot...and how full of crap Obama and company are.

Actually it's because of idiots like LaPierre and the right wing propaganda machine telling their ignorant sheep that "Obummer dun dar gonna takkeeeeeeeee yurrrrrrrrrrr gunzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!" so the fools are running to stores to spend their money. Just like all the "buy gold" and "food insurance" BS.
Those on the far right are lead around like sheep by their propaganda masters.

You'll be begging for a sip of water when the crap hits the fan.

But you go about in your little fantasy world where everything is rainbows and puppy dogs, being reliant on the ever flowing transport of food and water.....I'll be prepared.

I'm not a "prepper", but I have enough food, water and 1st aid to last out the first month.

Firearms were useful for folks in keeping the peace when natural disasters removed civic order and police presence.

It would be interesting to have a breakdown on who the buyers are: those who already have guns and are buying more, versus those with no guns buying for the first time.
