Bill Text: AZ HB2467 | 2013 | Fifty-first Legislature 1st Regular | Introduced | LegiScan

Arizona Republicans Propose Bill That Would Not Allow Atheists To Graduate High School

"I, _______, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge these duties; So help me God."

Well, I guess atheists could graduate by lying when swearing the oath. And are you really taking an oath freely if your high school diploma will be denied if you don't?

There will also be an earlier thread on this very same topic. MUAHAHAHA.
Swearing an Oath to the Constitution to be able to graduate from high school. This is a joke, right?

Does it surprise anyone? Arizona became one of the most radical right wing states in the nation since that ugly witch became governor.

Requiring they take an oath to good would seem to violate the constitution which the right wing claims to be supporting. Maybe they should do more read about what the constitution actually says instead of babbling about what they imagine it says.

Imposing religion on another is tyranny.
