Who is to say your ridiculous generalizations are normal? Sounds like you have too much time on your hands and fill it with worrying about what everyone else is doing.
Spewing stupidity on an internet forum is abnormal, yet you seem to have no problem doing that.
Here you go. A book that addresses a CLINICAL discussion of anti-government PHOBIA. It is a mental condition characterized by paranoia about government.
Because it's abnormal to be stockpiling in case the government threatens to take over. That's abnormal. It's not a normal state of mind. It's paranoia, not personal responsibility.
Who are you to make that determination? As I've said, if s*** hits the fan in this country, and I hope that it doesn't, I'm willing to bet those who have stockpiled are going to fare much better than the average citizen. Unless it's something like a nuclear war, or an asteroid strike, or some other disaster which threatens to wipe us all out, then it makes no difference anyway.
Actually, it's quite the other way around. Gun lovers are in a constant state of hysteria, thinking the "gubmint" is out to get them, pretending to be Clint Eastwood vs. an imaginary enemy, living back in the "the Commies are coming!" mentality of the 40s, 50s and 60s, and all-around being paranoids who have turned our country into a constant danger of shootouts and gun deaths and injuries.
No they simply understand we live in a world where bad things happen to people who do not protect themselves.
I once knew a man who was vehemently against guns. He would argue against gun ownership nonstop if you would indulge him.
One day he was driving with his wife and daughter and was car jacked. He was pistol whipped and robbed and left on the side of the road as his wife and daughter were kidnapped, robbed and raped.
That man now carries a gun everywhere he goes. The light bulb finally came on, although too late to do anything about the permanent scars carried by his family. True Story..
Most people, who are anti-gun, have never been or even known a victim of violent crime.
LEO are allowed to carry after retiring from service, not because of residual risk of retaliation, but because they more than anyone else understand the dangers of everyday life. If you ask them, they will tell you they would carry even if it were against the law.
It is better to be alive and charged with a crime, than to be a law abiding dead person.

I don't think you understand human psychology. There's a big difference between being cautious, and being a pararnoid schizophrenic, terrified that any moment your own government is coming after you. Right wingers are very paranoid and fearful. It's part of their nature, and they lend themselves to a lot of delusions.

So what about those on the liberal side of the aisle who don't support gun control? There are plenty of people who vote Democrat and support liberal ideas, but don't believe that further gun control is the way to address crime. They aren't right wingers, so how do you label them?

Let me guess, you got out of college like countless others with a worthless psych degree and automatically think you can diagnose everything and everyone.

I have a friend who is a Democrat and owns a gun. No need to tell you he's a minority. However, what happens with him? I argue with him, that's what.
However, he's a hunter. A good ole boy from Tennessee who grew up hunting.
He doesn't pack heat waiting for a good opportunity to shoot a human being.
