All you have to do is let us smokers opt out, then you don't have to worry about paying for us. I seek alternatives anyway, won't be taking advantage of your generous offer to save me. But you won't go for that will you, because it's not about health it's about keeping the money flowing so the gov't can control us all. That is the bottom line.

For the record, we here at Natural News repeatedly warned people about the Obamacare scam, describing how it was a forced taxpayer handout to Big Pharma and the dangerous sick-care industry which kills 783,000 Americans a year.

That's unfair. Having a smoking habit is a preexisting condition.

So you're a rich thief who demands to receive for free what others must pay for.

Well aren't you the SPECIAL one!

So is mainlining bacon, f'g indiscriminately with multiple partners, owning a gun, drinking beer like it's the nectar of the gods, and working at jobs that kill from stress. So what?

Husband's employer provides and subsidizes insurance as a part of a group policy as many employers do.
Husband's employer implemented a voluntary " Wellness Program" with financial incentives to achieve certain goals.

Sorry you choose to interpret this to suit your own agenda.

Millions of smokers could be priced out of health insurance because of tobacco penalties in President Obama’s health-care law, according to experts who are just now teasing out the potential impact of a little-noted provision in the massive legislation.

The Affordable Care Act allows health insurers to charge smokers buying individual policies up to 50 percent higher premiums starting Jan. 1, 2014.

For a 55-year-old smoker, the penalty could reach nearly $4,250 annually. A 60-year-old could wind up paying nearly $5,100 on top of premiums.

Finally, a provision I can support. Bravo to the Max!

Default Obamacare Allows Steep Surcharge for Smokers

Smokers should stop expecting everyone else to cover the expense of their serious health issues.

About time for some personal responsibility.

Too bad it has to be forced on them by the feds, but it's a move in the right direction. If they had some more self control, they'd have avoided the problem growing to such a point.

They pay premiums. You're not paying their premiums except in the case of medicaid.
And in the case of medicaid you will continue to pay their premiums.

Really? Interpret this to suit my agenda? Am I the one who advocates STEALING money from everyone to pay for the healthcare of others while at the very same time not having to pay my own... like YOU?

My agenda did not create your redistributive ideology, nor did it create your obvious (because YOU said it) glee with the fact that you are EXEMPT from the financial burden of your political ideals and agenda. Furthermore, your braggartly mannerism about how you are in a higher tax bracket than Buffet, Romney AND Obama while still skirting the burden you advocate be placed upon us not only shows you are a thief... stealing from those who will go without healthcare because you aren't personally enrolled in and get for FREE that which you demand the rest of us pay for, but it proves you are also a hypocrite. Does "FAIR SHARE" ring a bell?

Thank you for so beautifully demonstrating human nature for what it is. You did this by showing that in a redistribution of wealth scheme, all will endeavor to contribute as little as possible while demanding to extract as much as possible.

Here endeth the lesson that socialism is doomed to failure because individual human nature toward self interest ALWAYS takes precedent over benevolence toward society.

Nothing is free. Someone else is paying for it.
There is no "free" healthcare.

You're not paying the premium but it has been redistributed to others to pay for instead.
Nothing in life is truly FREE.
