Ok, so there is a lot of news today on the radio about this touchy-feely "giving illegal aliens who live in the US" the chance to become citizens without going through all the channels.

Fine.

So, let's say, for instance, that I am someone who wants to change my identity. Maybe I am a criminal, or maybe I just hate my life or maybe I want to get a second social security card so that when I turn 65 I can collect two checks instead of one.

So I decide, I'm going to "pretend" that I am an illegal alien, so I can get my "work papers". How is anybody going to prove I am not? There is no illegal alien documentation. They may or may not have birth certificates, (some of these people might be from the wilds of Guatamala or Costa Rica and have been born to wolves in the jungle for all we know). How are you going to prove that these people, are INDEED who they say they are?

Couldn't I just waltz right in and say my name is José Jiménez and I want to be an American Citizen? So what if I can't speak Spanish, I was raised by escaped Nazis in Argentina. Is speaking Spanish going to be a prerequesite? Oh, sorry, you're OBVIOUSLY NOT an illegal alien because you don't speak Spanish? huh?

How are they going to prevent fraud? None of this makes any sense to me.

just wondering.
