You want teachers to be under constant surveillance?
Contradict yourself much?

I thought Libbies loved background checks, but now they don't?

Yeah, Libs are so messed up lately they can't even be consistent in their (lack of) thinking

The teacher has no business being around kids in this case.

Firstly, I don't know of any school district that does not already do background checks on potential employees.

That being said, what would a background check have shown? That this young woman utilizes social media much like everyone else in the country?

Is that now a reason to deny employment?

Just curious: are you an advocate for forcing potential employees to reveal their social media accounts to employers?

Meh...the Clap is nothing in retrospect...especially considering the big boy out there now.

When I was a teen, it really wasn't something you thought about much. Hormones overrode common sense, but that's a part of being a dumbass teen. Can't afford to be so carefree nowadays.

It would have shown that she is not fit to be teaching kids..... in this case, yes

If she was going into construction, then no

The issue of tapping into social media accounts is touchy

You could find out things that are criminal or scary about someone and put a stop to it BUT some would say it is an invasion of privacy

Me, I refuse to have anything to do with the social media drama queen scene

It's just recently that the social media generation have learned to keep their internet lives locked up.
Employers didnt' have to do anything but google them. They are the ones that put it all out there for the world to see.

Schools do extensive background checks including e-verify and Federal fingerprint testing.
Has nothing to do with "character checks" or inquiring into your personal life.

Schools are just concerned with criminal records.

If you don't lock up that Facebook to only friends then there is no "invasion" here.
Twitter is public.

There is no "invasion" when you lay your life out on the internet for all to see.
