My highschool , a long, long time ago, had several teachers who smoked pot and hung out with students. One teacher ( a young woman) was engaged to a student. While common knowledge amongst students, parents and admins did not know or looked the other way.

Don't get me started on the Catholic priests and their alter boys, from the same era.
