Armed Citizens are Better & Safer than Armed Police!
Armed Citizens Make Fewer Mistakes Than Police. Police shoot innocent people over 500% more often than armed civilians do. Civilians are there when the crime or altercation began & know who the bad guy is. Police have no clue when they finally arrive on scene & end up shooting the wrong person. Police often live on the edge, they naturally tend to shoot first and ask questions later. The Supreme Court has ruled consistently that the police are not required to protect you.
"Don't think that just because the police are trained in the use of firearms that they are less likely to kill an innocent person. A University of Chicago Study revealed that in 1993 approximately 700,000 police killed 330 innocent individuals, while approximately 250,000,000 private citizens only killed 30 innocent people. Do the math. That's a per capita rate for the police, of almost 4000 times higher than the population in general. OK, that is a little misleading. Let's just include the 80,000,000 gun owning citizens. Now the police are down to only a 1200 times higher accidental shooting rate than the gun-owning population in general.
That still sounds high. So let's look at it in a different light. According to a study by Newsweek magazine, only 2% of civilian shootings involve an innocent person being shot (not killed). The error rate for police is 11%. What this means is that you are more than 5 times more likely to be accidentally shot by a policeman than by an armed citizen. But, when you consider that citizens shoot and kill at least twice as many criminals as do police every year, it means that, per capita, you are more than 11 times more likely to be accidentally shot by a policeman than by an armed citizen. That is as low as I can get that number.
The Kleck study shows that police shoot and kill around 600 criminals each year. Yet the University of Chicago study shows that police killed 330 innocent individuals in 1993. That means that for every two criminals killed by police, one innocent citizen is killed by police. Although I have the greatest respect for the police and how they must respond under pressure, I think that I would much rather trust an armed populace."
The most recent data you have is from 20 years ago (1993)? Seriously?
It doesn't matter. It's actually worse today.I wouldn't hold to much faith in the average cops weaponscraft if I were you. If you were to actually see actual training and qualifications, for real, not TV, it would scare the bejesus out of you. I dont need links, stats or anything else, I know it for a fact. Standard police training teaches"spray and pray". Whip out the Glock, XD, Sig, Berreta or what have you and take comfort tbere are 15 rounds in the gun and 60 more on your belt.
In comparison, shooting data shows tbat civilian defensive shootings average 1 to 3. rounds fired. Police shootings average at least a magazine emptied. Next time you read about a police shooting, not that number oc rounds fired by the officer is pretty much never mentioned, but the rounds fired by the suspect are always thrown up.
It's the same with civilian defensive shootings. The media seems hung up on round counts, anx when they are not there, tbey are ALWAYS quick to point out that tbe homeowner or whathaveyou, usex a semi auto, to create the illusion oc a madman spraying bullets about, willy nilly. Sorry, thats the cops do that.
Start going over some articles about police shootings, then compare them to reports on civilian shootings. See for yourself. It waz better 20 years ago than it is now in copland. Hi capz were really just a oming into their own then. Lots oc cops still carried revolverz then. Now, it's bullet hose city.
"Newsweek has reported that law-abiding American citizens using guns in self-defense during 2003 shot and killed two and one-half times as many criminals as police did, and with fewer than one-fifth as many incidents as police where an innocent person mistakenly identified as a criminal (2% versus 11%)."
Cops can shoot innocent people in their own homes and not get arrested or prosecuted. Cops literally get away with murder all the time in America. Citizens have no recourse.
You have to admire the folks running the Tea Party Nation, they sure know how to get their message out.
Every day, they send out at least a couple of emails, each with a startling headline and a little teaser text, and then an invitation to go to their Web site to learn more. Very good marketing.
Too bad most of it is emotional sizzle, with very little factual steak.
Start a thread with a grabber title, and fish will feed from propaganda.

Clackamas Mall Shooting I include this story because it is recent and has been getting some interest on the net. This case is not as clear as the others listed. This incident is similar to the more common defensive uses of guns because the mere display of the gun was enough to defuse the situation. We can never know if the shooter decided to commit suicide because he was confronted by Nick Meli, the CCW holder, as the shooter is dead. However, many mass shooters commit suicide when they know that armed resistance is at hand. Clackamas Concealed Carry Showdown Link
These shootings rarely made the national news. Of course, when a mass shooting is stopped by an armed citizen, there are not as many victims. This leads to the charge that it would not really have been a “mass shooting”.

Cops are a respondent AFTER crimes take place. That hasnt changed in 20 years, has it?
