It sure would be nice to see such benefit of doubt be given to a Republican, if the same allegations had been made.
But Menendez has a "D" after his name, so of course we must wait and get all the facts.
The media ignores this - hmnnnn....
WoW!
One, the media isn't ignoring it. I even heard this on NPR this morning.
Two, if you can't dispute even one sentence of my post, then it must be a Rove strategy to marginalize it by claiming it was partisan. Unfortunately, the FACTS as I've stated them aren't partisan. And your attempts to marginalize the people you don't agree with have been rather unsuccessful overall.

They did for a good while. I will agree with the argument that maybe more facts were needed before jumping but if I'm a source that wants respected I am investigating this even if it's not reported on yet.
It seems that media sources have decided it's a story that might have legs as they say.
I'm in a world of trouble if I have sex with the babysitter and the defense that I didn't ask her specifically how old she was is not going to absolve what I did.
Because you can reasonably be expected to know that your babysitter is a minor.
Whereas, you might not be expected to know that the seasoned and experienced prostitute you've met at a party is a minor. Especially in a country where prostitution is legal, and therefore regulated.

They are doing their best to ignore it. Most Americans haven't heard this story. Yet you know damn well that if this were an anti-liberal just about everyone would know about this to the point they'd be enraged or tired of hearing about it.
You read something somewhere and keep repeating it. The stories all state that the girl in question says it was 2009 forward.
I am reading the article from the OP.
It's too funny someone has edited the year from 2002 to 2012, but even the header in the OP still says the original 2002, and other pieces in the internet still say 2002. LOL
This proves the fakeness of the article beyond any shadow of a doubt.

Double standard hypocrisy by the liberals/media
Oh, please. The "if this were..." scenario. Most Americans are unaware of this story and millions of other stories that they should be aware of.
There are thousands of stories that don't get a lot of exposure in mainstream media. The stories that get picked up are perceived by editors to provoke interest. Frankly, Menendez's response to the allegations is what made it of interest to mainstream news. The fact that he sent a check for $58 thou for a couple of jaunts to the Dominican Republic is an interesting fact. The fact that a prostitute has made allegations is a titillating fact. The fact that it's unlikely that the prostitute will ever be able to prove her allegations takes a back seat at this point, because the Senator wrote a check for $58 thou for a couple of jaunts to the Dominican Republic. That's a lot of money. And the Senator just forgot to properly report these jaunts?
Add to that that this same Senator is taking over the chairmanship of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. And that this same Senator is fiercely anti-Cuba, and avidly pro-Israel, that this same Senator was once the subject of a corruption investigation, that this same Senator has obstructed several judicial and political appointments by the President, and that his obstruction seems to have stemmed from personal reasons (like he won't let someone who once was involved with investigating him for corruption be appointed a judge), altogether, this story is becoming interesting.
It was anticipated that Menendez and Obama would butt heads, and that Kerry and Menendez would butt heads, when Menendez assumed leadership of the Senate Foreign Relations. These allegations add drama to the political narrative. Especially because if Menendez is forced to resign, and a thorn in Obama's side is removed, it's done without any complicity on Obama's part. Things that make you go hmmmm....

It wont matter. If true he is facing charges and done.
For all Those apologists of the bad guy, you'd better ask him out of closet to clear himself. At last check he is still alive. I am left wing but rational one, cant be tolerant to all coruptions, especially from those who hold public office regardless their partisanship. The partisanship for those bad apples are just convenient tool for them. They can switch it around in a blink of an eye. They are pure political opportunists.

Sounds like he'll be in deep $hit soon. But this is not a reason to dismiss the immigration reform work he has done with Schumer, McCain and the rest.
The BS mantra from the Right about closing the borders first before going forward with reform is also nonsense. The border has never been so secure. Just standard obstructionism from Republicans again.
Maybe because a half million a year, or even 200K is still too @#$ many. My gawd man that is an entire new City a year that won't assimilate.
