"You'd probably earn more if you'd learn the proper use of apostrophes."
LOL
That's the message I received in a reputation point just now. The Grammar Nazi coward didn't have the testicular fortitude to say who they are, though. Liberalism at its finest!

As other already stated, you either did not know why average means jack squat or you were intentionally misleading others who didnt know average meant jack squat. This thread was not created to promote discussion it was created to try to claim that 23 dollars an hour was the income mode of this nation and you were dead wrong as other have pointed out about 50 times.
There is no need to try and attack other peoples intelligence just because you did not understand basic statistics.
Perhaps you could tell that teacher where s/he could find a higher paying job? Because no doubt s/he has tried. Jobs aren't falling off trees.
That's where making smart life decisions mentioned in The Millionaire Next Door come into play. It's no secret that liberal arts and teaching degrees usually don't yield high-paying jobs, and that those fields are already flooded with too many workers. So when one CHOOSES to prepare for a job in those fields, they are CHOOSING a relatively low income. It's a KNOWN factor. Therefore, it defies logic that any such person would then complain about a choice THEY made.

One thing for sure, this proves that knowledge of statistics is important when working with quantities.

If it makes you feel better to think that, then by all means carry on. No sweat off my back. Because you know, aerospace engineering would NEVER have a need to understand numbers and statistics!

I know a lot of engineers that are the dumbest smart people in the world...
Engineers that couldn't problem solve their way out of a box when it came to real world issues. Education notwithstanding.

I dont have to think that, look at your first 10 responses to other people on this forum. Again you either didnt know, or purposefully misleaded people because you wanted them to think 23 dollars was what most people in this nation made.
so that last line is you admitting that you purposefully mislead people, great.
