I don't know, Monster's median salary charts show pretty high MEDIAN individual salaries.

Let me make an obvious example for you:
Suppose in your small town you have 10 residents.
9 of these residents make $8 per hour
1 resident makes $2228 per hour.

The mean average is:
(9*$8 + 1*$2228)/10 = $23 per hour.

Notice that 9 residents (90%) make less than the mean average, and only 1 (10%) makes more than the mean average. The mean average DOES NOT imply that half (50%) our residents make more than $23 per hour.

There is absolutely NO REASON why the average worker in the United States cannot live off of these wages.

In fact, with these wages, and when personal responsibility is factored into the equation, there's absolutely no reason for single-parent families, children born out of wedlock, Medicaid, WIC, Welfare, or Food Stamps.

The AVERAGE worker makes $49,462 per year and yet we have liberals belly-aching over minimum wage and people barely able to make ends meet???? Who's fault is that?!

Get off your lazy asses and DO SOMETHING with your unproductive lives! There's money to be made out there!

Employment, Hours, and Earnings from the Current Employment Statistics survey (National) Home Page

The average WORKER makes the MEDIAN wage, not the average wage. Sheesh. What a FAIL.

Because acquiring a more valuable and higher-paying skill-set is free and available to everyone. Right? It's not like education costs money that the woman might never have had, and it's not like education doesn't take time.

Sure, people make choices. But the choices available to people vary widely. Making the best choice available to you is not being irresponsible.

There are exceptional people who've hauled themselves up the socioeconomic ladder through hard work and sacrifice, but there is also an element of luck involved with that climb. Many of these exceptional people had mentors who helped the exceptional to find the ladder. For the average poor person, finding a ladder, and then gaining a foothold, can be a nearly impossible task.

Ah, but this is where it gets tricky. She chose not to have an abortion and the liberals would have said it is her choice, but she made a bad one. The conservatives would prevent her from having an abortion or prefer her not to and at the same time criticize her for being on public aid. Can't have it both ways. As much as we would not want anyone in that position that is a real scenario.

15% of 5k .....$750

that's how much you should pay

He knows that, just being disingenuous.

Exactly. It's a CHOICE to remain unskilled and low-paid. The unskilled low-income earners have NO right to whine and complain that it's *unfair* that someone else earns more than they do. The higher income earners made different choices and are reaping the rewards of the hard work and sacrifices it took to make THEIR CHOICES a reality.

Could you please post these jobs so that I may go after them por favor!! Most people don't get paid this much at all, but please, since you know something like this, spread the gospel and help someone out who is trying to get out of the trenches.

No surprise a RWNJ tries to use the mean wage as an indication of what the median worker makes. That's Republican math for you! Well, you know, they usually don't like all that fancy book learnin'.
