It's a slippery slope: They take away our rights to ride Manatees first and before you know it, we are no longer allowed to open up a business. I tell you, legislation like the Endangered Species Act are just the beginning. Next, they'll tell us that we can't use dynamite for fishing.

Tea Party Manatee-Riding Patriots - The Daily Show with Jon Stewart - 02/19/13 - Video Clip | Comedy Central

At any rate, it made me laugh, especially since somebody yesterday complained about those people who loudly proclaim the waning influence of the Tea Party are those that seem most obsessed with it. Alas, I have no real interest in them - just thought this nicely illustrated the ridiculous "logic" that these guys apply.

That said, I understand their fear of rights being stripped away. But the right to ride Manatees? Come on.

I was just skimming the Bill of Rights. I see the right to Religion, Speech, Press, Assembly;
I see the right to a Grand Jury;
But I don't see the right to ride a manatees. Can someone point me to where that is in the bill of rights?

I think males should have the right to have babies.

If you have the right to marry a manatee, you certainly have the right to ride one.

It isn't left wing, just biased against stupid, it isn't Stewart's fault that the stupid is acutely a right wing fetish these days.
