Yeah that's right having a gun is no guarantee, but it better than having a bad guy with gun and that guarantee.

I'll take a 50/50 bet before I will take a 0/100 bet. How about you?

Yeah you did, but you were not wrong either. The cops sure as hell do not guarantee that they will come, much less protect you..

Once you have been murdered they will come, assess the 'scene' and determine IF a crime has been committed.

They will take any evidence and pictures if they feel like it or you are important enough to be bothered with.

Then they leave you, the rest of the family gets to clean up the mess.

Wow, you are beyond the typical gun hater.

The right of the PEOPLE to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Have you been drinking today?

The police have no legal obligation to protect anyone who is not in their custody.

Even the jackasses on the Supreme Court ruled that way.

So far, you have been wrong on everything. Try educating yourself first before you decide to debate with grownups

Warren vs DC.

"The court stated that official police personnel and the government employing them owe no duty to victims of criminal acts and thus are not liable for a failure to provide adequate police protection unless a special relationship exists."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warren_...ct_of_Columbia

In other words "COPS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO SAVE YOUR DEFENSELESS ***."

Hence, owning a gun or 20.

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

The people. Not the militia. The people.

The supreme court disagrees with you by the way.
It doesn't "include" the word militia. IT IS THE SUBJECT OF THE AMENDMENT.

Ah ok. Cops don't do law enforcement. They do local gardening of parks, they paint walls, and they skip along the avenue singing.

Oh for Pete's sake, why do I even bother to respond to you people's insanity?

Right. And as an assurance that the stated end will be achieved, the right of people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

You've got two freakin pages of citations backing this up.

What is wrong with you?

Sarachiwhaawhaa....why do you continue to build straw men and ignore facts?
Supreme Court ruling that the Second Ammendment applies to individuals isn't good enough for you? You need proof? What more do you need? ...and you call US idiots...pffft

Many court cases determining that cops aren't responsible for your protection isn't good enough either?

So if you are going to dismiss case law...tell me, how can there ever be any acceptable proof good enough for you?.....

There can't because facts don't fit well into your fantasy land...

I'm curious as to how you will react when some criminal collapses your little fantasy land around you....whom will you blame?

Certainly not yourself...

The real problem, IMHO (since definitions of femininity and masculinity are subjective and change over time and across cultures), is the fantasy (and fantasy it mostly is, with a few exceptions) that the bad guys are coming and that home defense will be necessary and possible when they do. The real instances of this are so few and far between that it's foolish to own weapons for this reason. Own 'em if you want (the Constitution and the Supreme Court say it's OK), but imagining this (bad guy home attack) happening is like not flying because airplanes sometimes crash. Learn the odds and live by 'em. Find a safe, low-crime neighborhood and live there. Don't show off your valuables. Etc. etc. A long, safe, violence-free life is the American norm these days, and it should stay that way for many years, guns or no guns.
