Ron Paul on Chris Kyle: ‘He who lives by the sword dies by the sword’ | Texas on the Potomac | a Chron.com blog

Insensitive and controversial, but is he technically wrong?

Default "He who lives by the sword dies by the sword"

A sincere statement of grief and apology to the family of the murdered guy would have been more appropriate, but people have been quoting that particular saying for hundreds of years for a reason...

The guy made no bones or apologies for what be did, so there should be no problem with Ron Pauls statement of the obvious.

It has the wingnut radio jocks shrieking all over the dial, I've read. Ron Paul has forgotten more about government policy than all those shrieking pinheads will ever understand in their lives.

Spot on Congressman.

Technically, of course not everyone who lives by the sword does die by it. But if he means there is some poetic justice to be appreciated, he's right about that.

Not really the comments that need to be made about an American hero.

I don't like it simply because Chris Kyle was doing what the Navy ordered him to do. If Ron Paul wants to say that we shouldn't have had snipers in Iraq he should go after the people who sent Kyle over there.

I think his statement is demeaning to all soldiers who are doing their duty even if the cause may be unjust.

This should prove for good what an idiot Ron Paul is. There was no need for him to tweet such hurtful words. The man left a wife and 2 kids. If your kid dies violently, Ron, you foolish nutjob, I won't tweet that he deserved it because congress sucks.

What a waste of air that goofball is.
