It is pathetic that people like you, in an attempt to marginalize Mr. Obama, revert to his community organizer job out of college, 30 years ago, while ignoring that he was a state senator and U.S. Senator also. It's like saying Lincoln was nothing but a log cabin builder.

Regarding whether the country is going in the wrong direction or not, GDP is up; consumer confidence is up; stocks have doubled and job loses has reversed to 30 months of straight job gains -- a far cry from the 800,000 job loses a month he inherited from Bush. That's the right direction in my book.
Actually, since Obama won Presidential elections, re-electing Obama after billions were spent, by running the most negative campaign in history. Because his own record was so dismal, Obama focused entirely on tearing Romney down, making him unacceptable. Like Obama said in 2008, "If you don't have a record to run on, paint your opponet as someone to run from. Make a big election about small things. Repeat a lie often enough and people will believe it." Typical Chicago-style politician.

Not only is your statement laughable, it's ironic considering that Mr. Obama's opponent actually ran the egative campaign, saying this like: “President Obama believes that government should create equal outcomes. In an entitlement society, everyone receives the same or similar rewards, regardless of education, effort, and willingness to take risk. That which is earned by some is redistributed to the others.”

And in an interview the same day, Mr. Romney declared that the president “is going to put free enterprise on trial.”

In other words, mr. Romney attributes ideas to Mr. Obama that isn't remotely true but sure is negative.

The government can make happen everything the fossil fuel industries want to happen and that wouldn't reduce prices. Fossil fuel companies will not voluntarily reduce their profits, why would they? The only thing that will reduce costs is if demand reduces. If demand, both foreign and domestically, continues to go up prices will go up.

Demand is not demand in the econ 101 sense. Goldman Sachs buys a ton of paper representing oil but they hold no real demand for oil. The typical barrel of oil is traded 8 times before it reaches market.

If supply and demand only involved those supplying oil and those actually using oil, prices would fall.

Nah. Gas may go to $5 or $6, but won't go higher than that. When it is reliably $5 a gallon, people will be buying cars that get well over 30 miles to the gallon, which will reduce demand, and will be using public transportation more, which will also reduce demand. The oil-fired electric generation plants will be converting to natural gas by then, which will further reduce demand.

The Japanese, with no domestic oil production at all, has paid $6 a liter for many years. The US, as the largest energy producer in the world, won't ever be like Japan.
