We produce more oil now, then ever. We are very likely to be energy independent in 10 years.

And refineries are privately owned. Ask Exxon why they haven't built more. Its usually because the standards of state and local are to high, or that federal standards are to high. All while making record profits. They are like drug dealers, we need a fix, we can't get it anywhere else, why should they increase supply?

Yep, let's blame those evil greedy corporations, when the taxes per gallon of gas by the feds and states are far more per gallon of gas than the profits:

Gasoline taxes are high. They pay for things people like, like roads.

Let me ask you this, what increase in gas prices over the last two weeks is because of tax increases.....

No but they're easily manipulated. Some of us make serious bank on speculation. Sucks for you losers who pay more for gas.

Shhhh Don't tell them their capitalism has flaws. Or that Exxon Mobil cares more about increasing profits than anything.

Guess they also want to over look it was Obama that brought in the new mileage guidelines for cars. Or his push to provide cars that don't use gas.

Buy a Tesla and it won't matter what gas does.

Another lame thread from Dear Poster.

Demand for gasoline is essentially flat for the long term.

I'm guessing you're not into reading EIA reports or petroleum industry journals.

No one in the oil industry has any intention of building an oil refinery in the US anytime in the next 25 years (because demand is flat for the long term), so if you want one, you'll have to cough up the money, build it, and give it to them for free....

...and then you'll have to hope they staff and operate it.

And no, it isn't the fault of The Boy King™ that demand is flat. Tell Generation Y-Work to buy more gas guzzling vehicles, and drive more often (especially to work).

Has nothing to do with anything.

I already debunked your Keystone Stupidity on another thread.

And that's your fault, because you don't pray hard enough. You need to pray harder so that your god will give you oil with no Sulfur.

Look at the Muslims --- they pray 5x per day, and their god gave them oil fields bigger in size than US States full of sweet low Sulfur oil ---- and light oil at that.

That has nothing to do with anything. Back in 2007 when I jokingly said you people would tear up the Earth to get the last damn drop of oil, I didn't mean for you all to take that literally and actually go out and start tearing up the Earth to get the last damn drop of oil.

You have done an horrible job of convincing me that fracking is safe.

Test drilling.

New Horizon --- that was a test drill rig. In theory, had not blown up, they would have pumped a few thousand barrels and then shut it down.

That oil would then go to a lab, where they would spend the next 3-5 years running test after test and chemical analyses on the oil to find out...

....drum roll please...

....if the oil is of any value.

Not all oils are created equally and some oils are totally freaking useless.

You might actually have a legitimate argument here, but pray tell, who was president in 2005? Oh, that would have been Bush the War Criminal™. EPA Tier 2 Gasoline Standards reducing Sulfur to 30 ppm were brought to you by...

Bush the War Criminal™....."it isn't torture if we do it"....and by...

John McCain and The Republican Controlled Senate..."bomb, bomb, bomb....bomb, bomb, Iran"....and by...

Tom DeLay's Republican Controlled House...."I AM the federal government"......

Uh, it's common sense to demand strict proof that there is no short or long term damage to the environment, the aquifers and human and animal life, and I don't see where demanding proof makes one a "freak."

The oil you get from fracking is useless anyway.

Are you practicing to be the next Herr Josef Göbbels?

You scream about gasoline prices --- ignoring the fact that your corn crop harvest sucked pathetically in 2012 with record lows in October resulting in high prices for December Corn Futures...uh, which are now being processed into ethanol and foods --- and then you end up talking about windmills.

Which part of "the US does not use oil to generate electricity" do you not understand?

You don't use gasoline to generate electricity either, so what's that go to do with bat-killing-UFO-crashing-wind turbines?

Nothing in your moron talking points has anything to do with electricity or wind turbines, so I don't even know why you mentioned them.

Your welcome...

Unless the president is from Texas and a republican which in that case it is the president that is a oilman in cahoots with big oil. But ONLY if it is a Texas republican.
