They didn't plan because they didn't know about Rockefeller's treason until after the fact. See my post, above.

Saddam moved his weapons of mass death, anticipating a U.S. invasion, but stayed in Iraq, knowing his regime would be crushed by such an invasion?

Unicorns are more believable than that story.

Are you claiming Obama's Admin doesn't know what they're doing? Clapper, Obama's Director of National Intelligence said the weapons were moved. That happened after Rockefeller committed treason and tipped off Syria and others.

And since when was there any indication that Saddam was a sane individual?

We went to Iraq in March 2003. The plan was to depose Saddam and then plant a seed of democracy in the Mid East, i.e. nation-build. You're telling me that there was a plan to invade, depose, nation-build, and leave, all in 10 months?

Yes. Clinton signed the Iraq Liberation Act in 1998.

Liberals aren't into facts. They're into ridiculously absurd propaganda slogans. This thread proves it.

LBJ, McNamara, and Rusk were brilliant men, but that didn't stop them from creating the Vietnam quagmire. Likewise, a lot of intelligent men screwed up on Iraq.

The Bush administration probably figured that, WMDs or not, they'd be out of Iraq within a year, with evil Saddam disposed. What were Rumsfeld's estimates for withdrawal? 8 months? Bush's infamous 'Mission Accomplished' speech basically implied that the worst was over, in 2003. How wrong they were.

And for you liberals who are completely devoid of historical knowledge, listen carefully to what Clinton says...

You didn't listen to what Clinton said. And it was Clinton who signed the Iraq Liberation Act. You're in cognitive dissonance denial.
