They believe that every criminal in this country will run down to the local Police station and turn in all of their guns if they are banned. I believe the gun grabbers are that ignorant.

Someone that kills their own family (by any means) is not a "nut"? You just lost the tiny shred of credibility you might have possibly had.

This really wouldn't be comparing apples to oranges since the population and size of the US is so much more vast than the UK.

But here are some interesting comparisons:

The US homicide rate is actually sort of middle of the road comparatively speaking, at about 4.8 per 100,000. Here are some European countries whose murder rates exceed that of the US:

• Greenland (19.2)
• Russia (10.2)
• Moldova (7.5)
• Lithuania (6.6)
• Ukraine (5.2)
• Estonia (5.2)
• Belarus (4.9)

Another startling statistic is this:

In over 52% of the murders in the US in 2011 in which the race of the murderer was known, the murderer was black. Over half of the victims of murder were also black. But blacks are only 13.6% of the population. Put all that together, and the murder rate in the US for non-blacks was more like 2.6 per 100,000 in 2011.

When you factor in the fact that the vast majority of homicides involve a criminal killing another criminal - the odds of any law abiding citizen being the victim of homicide in the US are VERY LOW.

But wait - there's more! This is an interesting chart comparing the number of firearms per person in various countries to the homicide rate:

By the way, the homicide rate in the US has been falling for years.

USA is more populated than UK, sure.
But that doesn't change the fact he USA has much more murders per capita than UK, or a higher murder rate.
Come on, it's not so hard to understand

Look at the above post. Russia has a total ban on guns.

The idea that youu need a gun to defend yourself form rampant home invaders is a myth --- guns are far more likely to be used by family members and friends against each other.

And vanquishing the myth that guns save lives ---they don't. In real life, they are used far more often to end lives.

Nice sentence. Too bad it is a flat out lie. If you going to make such a claim you are going to have to provide data from a credible source. Be sure to include data from the Justice Dept. on how many times a guns used for self defense.

Still higher than Western Europe's murder rate (which is around 1 per 100.000).

Same in Western Europe, Canada and Australia: the vast majority of homicides involve a criminal killing another criminal.
But your statement doesn't change the fact that USA has a higher murder rate. And a higher occurence of gun massacres.

39 to 65,000.
So much for your "Myth"
