The minds of Republicans are about as nimble as a slab of stone. Stands to reason that they haven't a clue on how to run an economy effectively except to benefit ONLY the rich. "Trickle-down" is all they got.

Truly pathetic. We have a President who invites ideas from all sides on every issue, including effective ways to run the economy decimated by Republicans. The problem is that the contributions from the Republican side are idiotic and ridiculous, requiring no consideration. That's how stupid their ideas are. Their history shows that they don't belong at the table since they are stuck on the bogus trickle-down nonsense.

You probably think $125 per month isn't all that much to a burger flipper, right?

Especially after he pays his fair share of your flat tax.

A 10% flat tax on 20000 a year is 2000 dollars. A 10% flat tax on 200000 a year is 20000. I'd say that's the fairest way to tax there is.

TV has become materialistic with programming that shows decadence to the highest degree. Owning things have become more important than treating people justly and fairly.

Many who follow Obama think justly and fairly is to spread the wealth around with give aways . This is not just or fair either. Giving a fish is not the answer . Giving the skills to catch the fish is more rewarding to the person , and will serve the same purpose.
Collectivists do not champion individualism and self reliance. Those of us who do are seen as greedy exploiters. The Progressive mind seeks to make everyone equal, based on their own definition of equality. Not created equally, but made equal (by government action) within the collective social structure.

Any activity that does not benefit the collective is greed. Individual achievement and ownership is denied. Thus the Presidents (and Elizabeth Warren's) claim that "You didn't build that!"

In the Progressive Utopian society, individualism cannot be allowed to exist.

If that is the case, isn't it morally imperative that government NOT prevent a willing property owner from selling a burger flipper a tiny piece of property he can afford? It's the only way a burger flipper can buy a home after paying your fairest flat tax.

I'll gladly accept all the worthless money other people don't want.

If you want to talk flat tax, there is a point of diminishing returns. I think every individual, all of us, should pay the same tax rate on every dollar we earn above a set amount. Let's say 30000 a year. So if you make 200000, you'd pay taxes on 170000 .

If you make 20000, you wouldn't pay any tax.

Have you thought about moving? Not every place is Michigan and fast food jobs are not the only jobs available. Nearly every city has cheap housing available. Sometimes it is a mobile home and sometimes it is detached housing, but the housing does exist. Dallas and Houson have housing available for less than 25K, Detroit and Chicago have housing available for less than 15K, so you could buy a house if you wanted.

This is actually something I strongly support, although I don't actually know how the math would work out. Some people would be forced to pay more, but others would not so it is difficult to see the net effect. Flat taxes by and large are highly regressive though so this policy might end up backfiring... I think I have some research to do.

We believe because it is so logical, and has been proven over and over again.

The Obama economy is a perfect example. No business expansion, no jobs, nobody making money.

None of you liberals are making a case for Obama's handling of the economy, I notice, because there is nothing to boast about. The poor are living off of government handouts (and doing very well).

The Obama administration is breeding slothfullness. People don't care about a job when they are quite litterally paid more not to work. They never had it so good.
