I've always questioned how people had debates prior to the inception of online forums and chatrooms. I know some on here have recollections of that time period.

It was more localized with people you knew, and often times you just wouldn't talk to people about politics because you knew it would just cause too many issues....basically it is just like real life today. I hardly ever talk about politics with people outside of the internet because in real life, I don't really care about politics in my daily life routines.

Yes, most people agreed that Social Security and Medicare were good things, and that high taxes on the rich were not harmful. Then the Reagan Revolution came along and introduced fundamentalism into politics, and here we are.
