Germany and England are "jumping off points" for the Middle East. It's easy to get to the Middle East from those places without actually having to BE there. Much more stable environment.

My daughter is stationed with the Air Force in England. Her job has to do with information emanating from the Middle East. So even though she's in Europe, her job is directly tied to the Middle East. This is the case for many of our personnel stationed in Europe.

Some of the most active US units deploying to the Middle East deploy from Germany, by the way.

It doesn't.
Thanks for the info.

Nah, I think you'd be hardpressed to name a country we aren't in. CIA and Secret Service is everywhere.
We are spreading over Africa now.

There's this invention called airplanes.

Units can "jump off" from right here. We dont need, nor can we afford a bunch of foreign bases as jump off points.

In Germany, Landstuhl hospital and Ramstein AFB is enough. We dont need 50k troops in Germany.

Default Why do we have our military in 150 countries?

Is it because the 151st country turned us down?

Will this be on the test?

We'd all be a lot better off if we'd listened to Ike.

With the new drones you'd think we could start to vacate some of these countries.

So how do you tear the MIC down? Once we try I can just see an imminent risk coming up that we just "have" to take care of.
