I think you ought to buy 4 or 5 more, the price has only, what, doubled in the last couple of months? The NRA marketing plan works pretty well, huh?

That costs me money for every back ground check....currently if I buy a gun, it cost nothing, if I do a privte sale, it cost $25-$50....

who's going to pay that?

Ditto for spare ammunition.

I've been going to gun shows off and on for over 30 years with my dad and we are both laughing our butts off at the frenzied stupidity. I mean, sweet baby J....they learned nothing from 2008 either when then got fleeced.
We currently have a gun bubble, the smart thing to do in a bubble is to sell not to buy.

Don't be like the suckers who bought real estate in 2006, be like the ones that sold in 2006

Depends, if you give a gun to your daughter and she is a teen, she is your responsibility so you should be held accountable if she does anything with that gun. Now if she is an adult, then she should have to have a background check to receive that gun, if she doesn't and does something as an adult then you should be held accountable for not going through the proper background check.

Now if you replace "daughter" with "criminal" do you still support not having to do background checks for guns you give as a "gift?"

I wouldn't sell mine even of someone offered $3K. But no one will offer $3K, because there will be no bans.

No one is making you buy a gun, so if you wish to buy a gun, you should have to pay for the background check. Now if you wish to be held accountable if that gun is used in a crime, then I guess you don't need to worry about background checks.

You'd end up paying for it either way. Nothing is free. You either pay for it directly, or you pay via your taxes.

What I find amusing (disturbing?) is that generally speaking, the same group of people who are demanding universal background checks, gun registries, massive taxes on ammo, etc., are the very same people who are adamantly opposed to requiring a photo ID demonstrating a legal right to vote, even if those IDs are issued without charge by the state. They require that someone be able to exercise their right to vote without a single impediment, no matter how minor, but they are doing everything they can to make it as difficult and expensive as possible to exercise the rights guaranteed by the 2nd.

Hypocrites, all of them.
