I have heard rap/hip hop. I find *SOME* of the artists rather clever and intelligent.

The problem with rap/hip hop is the culture that dominates it. The culture that it creates.

Somebody needs to start a thread entitled "White people are the most talented people in the world!" and see what happens.

Sorry, but I don't quite follow your last sentence. Anyway, Motown was primarily a label for black recording artists. In my teen years, "Soul" music was black music. There were some artists that captured the sound that were not black such as The Rascals, Eric Burden, etc. but I do not find anything racist in acknowledging the distinct sound that personified Motown.

Which post is that referring to?

BTW...my lack of interest in Rap is easily explained. It just does not resonate with me. My music taste is very eclectic. Everything from Rock, Country, Classsical, Soul, Opera, Samba, African, New Age, etc. Rap just does not move me.

It's a "black" awards show. So what? If it was an awards show for Italians, and Frank Sinatra said that Italians were the most talented, would people be as offended?

Bingo!!! You hit the point. Same for Asian and Hispanic. We are EQUAL, right? Any statement like the one by Jamie Foxx should be blasted as the unacceptable racist trash that it is.

Neither. I'm indifferent to both, as well as the Superbowl. Talk to me about the international musicians for the World Cup.
