When a camera is not making enough money, the camera company shortens the yellow time. In my area, you are considered 'running a red light' even if you stop for the red but your vehicle wheels are over the white line. It's just another government money making scheme.
Our new mayor just banned red light cameras here after many years of operation.
The camera operators here aren't getting their contract renewed after it was discovered they bribed officials. Or as we call it in Chicago, "business as usual."
