The elite will hire a private army and things would have to get much worse than they are now to get most fat asses Americans of the couch and into the streets.

Newsflash, most of the country voted for President Obama, and most of the country agrees with the direction that we're headed. Even people who voted for Romney, a good portion of them are upper-middle class/wealthy people who live in the suburbs around major cities. They're not crazy preppers like some of the others in the R party. So, please, this article is a joke. It's not even close to "most" who believe this garbage. It's actually just a minority (in the grander scale) of ultra-right wing fanatics who should probably seek medical treatment for mental disorders.
There are only around 1.4 million active duty personnel in the entire US military – that includes the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard. Even if you include national guard reserves, the total figure is less than 2.3 million.
Even if just five per cent of American gun owners actively resisted in a civil war, that would be five million Americans – more than double the entire US military and national guard, many of whom are already engaged overseas.

My old unit could get up at their normal time, have a long lazy shower, take their time eating breakfast, drive carefully window shopping for houses and still get there in time to shove a rifle in your face before the alarm goes off. They don't take kindly to people threatening their families.
