Go ahead and explain how you learned about it, just so I can get a good laugh.
We all know you are Beck's #1 fan roys, what do you feel about his outrageous accusation? Do you think it's correct?

The College of Cardinals selects the new pope--not the existing pope if he resigns or dies. The Pope appoints the Cardinals. Recent Popes have appointed increasingly conservative Cardinals, as has the existing Pope. Beck's comments don't even make sense (what a surprise THAT is ). Since the vast majority of Cardinals are already conservatives, why would they be more likely to vote for a "communist" (please) at any time--now OR after his death? What difference does the timing make? If he had waited it out until his death, he or one of his appointees would have still appointed new conservative Cardinals. If he was unable to do it because he was too ill, the pope can appoint someone he has HAND PICKED to take over duties like appointments.

Even FOX thought this guy was too dumb and crazy to keep--with good reason.

Nevermind that Beck doesn't know what he's talking about, but: Can you get more conservative than Benedict? Kinda skeery.

You just can't make this crap up, and the source is straight from the horse's mouth

Why is The Pope retiring? Glenn has a theory – Glenn Beck
Every post that mention Beck's name makes him money. They use detailed web analytics to determine who people are talking about and what's popular. Advertising rates are even based on the stats. The people who hate him the most make him the most money.

Oops - he just made another $0.02.

Maybe if you read it correctly you would get some understanding from it.. The Pope stepping down appointed the conservative Cardinals . Most are old. Pope is stepping down according to Beck, before they die off. When the Appointed conservative Cardinals vote they will vote conservative because the Pope appointed the most conservative voting Cardinals to appoint the next Pope.

Not so insane as the OP stated..

Benedict elevated new groups of cardinals five times during his eight-year papacy, and on all but one of those occasions he gathered the cardinals together for a daylong meeting before the formal elevation rite. It was at such a meeting in February 2012 that Cardinal Dolan won praise for his talk on evangelization, Mr. Palmo said. “The cardinals all got the chance to size each other up and listen to one another, and there was no seniority in terms of who could speak,” he said.
In the last conclave eight years ago, there were alliances of liberal and conservative cardinals. But this time, the spectrum has narrowed because 50 of the cardinals were created by John Paul II and 67 by Benedict, both doctrinal conservatives. (Cardinals age 80 and older cannot participate.)
