I sympathize with both sides of the issue. I think we all should be concerned about the environmental impact of everything we do, but we should also realize that every human activity will produce some pollution and as long as reasonable environmental protective measures are in place, we have to provide energy for 7 billion people.

If not for the wind it would have been a pleasant day.
Big snowstorm coming this week too across the country. Sounds like another good time for a global warming protest. AFter all we all know global warming causes snow.

Oh I'm sure if there is a profit to be made don't stand in the way.

At the very least our ground and water supplies will not get contaminated.

And I don't think these protesters are silly, I think they are very serious and dedicated, there have been many arrests in other states of pipeline activists.

Do you know how many pipelines there out there not contaminating ground water?
Do you know a safer way to transport it?

And this movement is not just about the pipeline, many of those at the rally were bringing the attention to fracking and mountain top removal.
Here is a short video at this link put together by some young kids to explain the danger of mountain top removal.

I know there have been issues with other pipelines contaminating ground water.
But as far as a safer way to transport tar sands the answer is easy "stop digging it up!"

But to answer your question go to this web site that was recommended by these folks this past Sunday.
If you croll down to the bottom of their page there are several videos to show you the contamination.

Canada is gonna harvest that oil whether they
pump it south, or west to be shipped to China.
