Compare the nation today to the one that was created at the end of the 18th century. You may be surprised to discover that many things have changed over the last few centuries. It's not about tearing down the nation, it's about progress, a word that terrifies the religious right as much as the prospect of a gay person being allowed to marry the same way a straight person can does. The forward momentum of progress is going to roll right over you guys.

Don't worry I bet a straight couple has already engaged a lawyer.

What redefinition? Two consent adults pledge their love and devotion to each other for life.

Sounds the same to me ...

You know what, yep, you're totally right. I want to be treated equally under the laws of the US and its several states simply so I can point and laugh at you while peeing on your beliefs.

Haven't you been paying attention? Apparently, straight people own the word "marriage."

This has been addressed already.
You're making a lot of assumptions and no one in this thread agrees with you.
You're the one who talks without knowing what you're saying and when disputed by actual gay people (and non-hateros) you ignore us and keep spewing what amounts to lies.

The agenda is equal rights for all.
Yes, even gays.

Your posts are a prime example of why there should be no religious influence in our laws.
Religion seems to be established for the spreading of lies and inequalities - with a healthy doses of fear and hatred.

An attack on what American values?
The "values" of discrimination and bigotry?

Or do you not believe that "all men are created equal..."?

Do you know how many State Constitutions mention God?
Answer: ALL OF THEM.

See, this is what the entire gay marriage debate always boils down to in the end. A hard, steadfast religious belief. All the logic and debating in the world won't change the minds of the religiously indoctrinated.
