Even moreso, pushing to force others to abide by your personal religious beliefs, which you desire to inflict on the entire nation.
If it were 1812, you would have a mental illness to suggest black people are human beings and service such rights. How dare anyone consider those dark skinned animals human! They are animals I tell you, animals! And they should be treated as such and anybody who disagrees is just as much of an animal as they are!

It was the religious "bible-bangers" of the day that stood up for abolition. Not the cultural Christians but the ones genuinely living the faith.

And yes, "pro-lifers" are highly hypocritical. The entire thing is based not upon any particular love for fetuses, but on the desire to control others, and make them share that particular belief that a clump of cells, like my gallbladder, should have the rights of a viable human being.
You help me understand why teaching birth control and promoting greater access to it is not popular with people who are against abortion. Birth control is seen as anti-God and doesn't control others.

Simple question: Is abortion safe for the baby being aborted?

It's very safe for the clumps of cells since they're not viable humans. Only in the perverse minds of Bible-banging preachers, wackos, and "pro-life" religious nuts is a clump of cells a human. Next thing you know, they'll be worshipping gall bladders, appendices and fetuses.

Exactly.

Because they're not actually for protecting life. They're only about two things:

(1) Proselytizing their specific religion (evangelical Christianity); and,
(2) Curtailing the freedoms of women through controlling - via legislation - women's bodies, thoughts, and actions (not men's, just women's).

That ^^^^^ above, is the sole and only reason "pro-life" groups exist. They have no other reason for existing. Birth control provides freedom for women, so it's completely anathema to their cause of controlling women and promoting their religion. It's just all about promoting their evangelical religion, and controlling women.

Thank you for posting this. It shows the good viewers here how unreasonable your view is.

FYI, I have provided in this thread a clear pro-life position that is devoid of any religious perspective.

That's what the "pro-life" movement would love more than anything - to make it appear as if the religion was not behind the movement. A little too late for that!

Well, Christian Fundamentalism didn't exist yet. However, I don't recall anything specifically in the Bible stating that owning black slaves was anti-Christian.

Like so many other pro choice people you just frame the debate about what you want and then knock down the straw men you've built.

It's supposed to be "all about" control and pro lifers don't really care about unborn children and yet you never ever find an actual pro life person who says anything like that. All you ever find is pro choicers claiming that it's what pro life people believe.

It comes down to "Pro life people don't really believe what they say they believe, they really believe I what I say they believe." It's complete nonsense and the purest form of the strawman fallacy that you'll ever encounter.
