This assumes you are the type who reaches out to neighbors, rather than the "live and let live" types. Neighborhood watch, summer block parties, girl scout(etc) door to door, children playing together, etc.

If you had a choice (because of what the media is feeding us), which would you prefer and why?
I have both Jewish and Muslim neighbors. I am friendly with both. I live in a very mixed neighborhood: 5 blocks up the street there is Kol Tzedek Congregation, a synagogue. About 10 blocks away is the Al Jamia Masjid, a mosque. Within blocks of where I live there is Koch's Delicatessen where I can get a kosher pastrami sandwich on rye with a potato latke, and also Saad's Halal House where I can get a Kafta kabob and tabouleh on the side.

To be honest I would probably prefer the Jew. Because Jewish culture is more similar to mine than Muslim culture is. If they were secular Jews and Muslims then I would have no preference.
