The official name of China is The People's REPUBLIC of China. China is a republic, but it is not a democracy.
True. China is a communistic country and is ruled by a totalitarian regime. It is a republic,
(patiently)
Countries run by totalitarian regimes cannot be republics.
In a republic, the people elect the bosses in government.
In China, the bosses are appointed or selected by other high-level politicians and bosses.
Communist and socialist dictatorships always call themselves "People's Republics". It's the first of many lies they foist upon onlookers, since they cannot live with the truth of their existence, and must continually fool people into thinking they have any kind of freedom.
This is as true of the communists and socialists in the govt of China, as it is true for the communist and socialists currently in the the U.S. government. If they were to frankly admit what their ideology and agenda really is, their people would turn against them. Then only the strength of their military, its willingness to fight against their own people, and the degree to which the people are trained to unquestioningly accept the politicians' decrees, would determine how bloody and how successful the events that follow, would be.
China is communist, but they love the american republicans with a passion, they send all of our jobs to them. The american GOP is single handedly turning China into the world's next superpower.
Wasn't it Bill Clinton who was the first US president to give China most favored nation status? Ooops, that blows a hole in your senseless anti-Republican scree.

Yep, and the clock is ticking....
Anyone remember the Arab Spring and OWS?
Just wait until 2014-2015 when We the People discover 70-90% of their discretionary income (if they still have a job) is being funneled into the Insurance Co.'s by ObamaCare...

Did you notice that a rule was slipped into 0bamaCare to double insurance premiums for smokers? It's only a heart beat away for the HHS secretary to add anything else she likes to that list. Maybe people over a specific body fat will be added to it next. There are hundreds of fill-in-the-blanks waiting "to be determined by the secretary."

True. China is a communistic country and is ruled by a totalitarian regime. It is a republic, but it is not a democracy. Such a governmental system is a tyranny in my view.
Can a country be a democracy but not a republic? Of course - some examples: Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain, the Netherlands, Japan, Thailand, Denmark.

China calls itself a republic but it isn't a republic like an American would expect as it is a communist country with only one political party.
The Chinese are very interested in doing business and gaining Western technology and expertise. So although there is a communist regime it does make allowances for the internet usage although Western social media and news sites are blocked to the average Chinese person.

And Amerika has like 1.5 political parties
I mean, after all, besides the GOPhers' and DemoRats' pet special interest groups (usually electioneering stuff anyways), the campaigns are mostly funded by the same corporate sponsors, and both of them compete to be the biggest ***** in DC.
It's not like they give two rips about representing the interests of We the People, they just have to trick a majority of the electorate (which is minority of the population) to vote for them every 2-4-6 years.
Not hard to do with this dumbed-down-to-succumb multicultural cesspool...

The democrats recently tried to pass legislation to stop the GOP from offshoring our much needed jobs, and they of course blocked it to fuel their greed.
Also there is a huge difference between Clinton's "free markets!" that right winger are always complaining about that they want, VS. the GOP's offshoring which they are doing.
