They can determine temperature and atmospheric conditions based on ice cores from areas that have been under ice for thousands of years.

Gambling with the future of your family by ignoring SCIENCE? (And I'm not ignoring the fact that all nations need to change to make a difference. I don't see the point in restricting the first world while allowing the developing world to continue business as usual simply because they are developing economies)

Climate has been changing - always.
The issue is whether or not human activity is a significant factor in climate change.
And if so, which activity?
That has NOT been answered satisfactorily.

Living is gambling with the future of your family. I'll take that gamble.

The problem is not climate change as such, but unnatural climate change...

According to a National Academy of Sciences survey it was estimated that 97-98% of all climate scientists take the position that man made global warming is occurring.

Expert credibility in climate change

Forbes has published a study indicating that over 60% of geoscientists and engineers are skeptical of man made global warming.

Now if we could just get the climate scientists to weigh in on the fracking controversy we'd about have it covered.

How is it gambling on my family when a warmer planet is BETTER for people. Thats one thing you sky is falling people dont get. I will type slower for you- A warmer planet is better for humans then a colder planet. Do you people think if we all dont start living like cavemen that the earth will turn into a fireball? So what if the oceans rise a foot or two, maybe that is where mankind should adapt.

It's amazing how many people don't know the difference between weather and climate.

It is amazing how many people don't know that climate is cyclical; always has been, always will be.

Climate change just may very well be unstoppable.
If so, shouldn't the various governments (especially those with seacoasts and deserts) be thinking about what to do to cope with the inevitable change, instead of trading carbon credits and other such silliness?
Think about this: Plants need carbon dioxide for growth. the more CO2 there is in the atmosphere, the better plants will grow, and the more crops we can harvest. Plants give off oxygen. The more plants that grow, the more oxygen there will be in the atmosphere, and the better our athletes will perform. Our vehicles will also run better with more oxygen. A warmer climate will allow planting crops in ground that is now permafrost. Sure, deserts might increase in size, but the net gain in arable land should offset that nicely.
Now, tell me again what the problems of climate change are??
