A Florida high school student is suspended for disarming another student who pulled a small caliber handgun on a third student.

Is this appropriate or is this a irrational act provoked by anti-gun hysteria?

Well we can't have students standing up for themselves or others, how will they learn to be dependent on the government with that kind of self reliance and composure?

An irrational suspension provoked by zero tolerance, anti-gun hysteria.

Bureaucrats who do idiotic things like this are a large part of the reason I decided to retire, even though I still loved the actual teaching.

God, how I hate our government. It doesn't even take a brain to know the student shouldn't be suspended.

Didn't our very own government recommend kids to use scissors or to "charge" at a crazy gunman?

Then, the gunman, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon “without intent” to kill. Seriously, you put a loaded gun to somebody's head. That is intent in by book.

The kid with a gun, a jock/football player. Apparently, he was upset because his teammate was arguing with his friend.

This is a prime example of the out of control culture of violence that exists in our county. I want to know why the parents don't know their son has a gun. I bet you the signs are there. Damn, this county is falling apart.

Sounds like the actions of cowardly school administrators who are too hung up on hiding behind stupid policies to do the right thing.

The Parents probably know very little about the kid. Sad

Common sense and intellegence seems to have been eradicated from administration at public schools. I guess that's one of the qualifications in today's far-left education system...adherence to the company line is promoted. Intellegence is not.
