Funny that this seems to be a local interest story.....that's because it was a black cop.
If it was a white cop vs. black or even hispanic female it would be all over the national news, CNN, MSNBC, etc. and lead to riots and the looting of liquor stores for booze & chips to soothe the hurt.
This is a pretty obvious case of corruption and conflict of interest. The judge should definitely excused himself from the case. I wonder how much more it's going to take before people get tired of the bs and stand up to corruption like this?

In Allentown the son of the police chief got off( by a jury) for a road rage incident involving a drawn legal firearm and police. It sounded like the prosecutors rolled over and didn't try too hard.
Also in Philly, the daughter of neighboring Bucks County's County Sheriff is charged in a case involving the group beating of a gay couple. That's been really clouded up and legally challenged. So it looks like not every city has its own police in the crosshairs. Of course, there's nothing good about injustice in either extreme.
