You are killing in this thread.

My friends dad is a retired Philly detective and I've heard a lot of stories.

I don't know philly first hand but given my experience in Chicago, I totally understand it.

Philly is also the city that kept PVC pipe out of buildings for decades so as not to reduce work hours for the plumbers and pipe-fitters mafia....errr union. When they built their new "green" building with zero-flush systems they were blocked until they put in a complete set of plumbing that remains unconnected.

Gotta love extortion, you just have to have enough politicians in your bed to make it "legal".

Though i agree, it is suspicious, your title is inaccurate, it SHOULD read,
"A judge who is married to a Philadelphia Police officer, acquits A Philly Police Officer of brutality."

Your title makes it appear that the police officer he is married to, is the one acquitted.

Just another example of how laughable the "justice" system in this country is.

Police officers, judges, and their agents are all enemies of freedom.

Well it was only weeks ago that the son in law of Pa Governor Tom Corbett who is also a Phila police officer was caught dealing drugs that he confiscated from drug dealers he busted, so we will see how that plays out. Probably the same way Corbett gets away with his early knowledge of the Sandusky, Penn State affair and did little to stop it.

The Police Beneficiary Association runs Philly. How a judge can declare video evidence from a freaking bench trial is flat the frak unbelievable, even in a jury trial to submitted upon rebuttal of Joey's claim that he was just trying to take a beer from the woman is flat out unbelievable.

For folks outside of Philly who want to argue that the conflict of interest is unproven...ok, but for us who live and work in Philly a judge dating a Philly cop much less married to one is prima facia evidence.

UFB!

I fault the defense attorney. The judge is everything in a trial, he decides what evidence is allowed and what isn't. He should have investigated this judge before the trial. Incompetent cousel.
In this case, the video wasn't even allowed.

Ah... you mean State's Attorney Seth Williams who didn't have to agree to a bench trial, but then Seth is in the PBA's pocket as well.

Commissioner Ramsey just canned the crooked cop/ex-son-in law. We'll see what else happens.
