DHS to Purchase Almost 3,000 Tanks for Use in America (states, Army, security)

The Department of Homeland Security (through the U.S. Army Forces Command) recently retrofitted 2,717 of these ‘Mine Resistant Protected’ vehicles for service on the streets of the United States.

I guess these are for training?

How about the correct terminology, it's a heavily armored vehicle. This thing is toast if it meets up with even the worst tank from WW2.


It is however designed for urban warfare against lightly armed people.
