I have reality on my side, you have wishful thinking. But wishful thinking is still stupidity and sometimes dangerous.
Translation ~ she was asking for it and boys can't help themselves so they get a free pass.

Holy moly! As the mother of five boys, I find that kind of reasoning really offensive.

Ok, I had many guy friends who didn't try to rape me or my girl friends regardless of how drunk we got. I did kiss some frogs while drunk. Maybe it was the times. If some guy who any of us girls knew did us ANY harm, we had brothers, cousins, fathers and other guys in our lives who would take care of them but good. Same with stalkers. No law involved. It just didn't happen, and during rebellious years I hung out with some pretty seedy characters. I was more concerned about stranger danger, so trained in firearms and carried a gun since age eighteen.

Actual translation: If a man is willing to take the risk telling him it is wrong isn't going to change the outcome.

It's fairly spot on. Most rapes are not accidental misunderstandings.

WHY should we have to dress a certain way, go only to certain places, and carry weapons when the REAL problem is the rapist? If men didn't think it acceptable to rape (and to blame the victim), none of this would be necessary. Instead, it's all on the women to come up with defenses against something that men should be taught is a crime, shameful, horrendous.

If this woman was raped by someone she knows, it's someone who seems normal but somewhere got the message that it's OK TO RAPE. Just "boys being boys." It's the woman's fault for not have a gun, dressing wrong, or going to the wrong place. None of you nutbags will be able to wrap your brains around this, and it's MUCH more fun to make fun of a rape victim, so have it it. Just don't expect sane people to listen to you.
Of course it is the creep's fault who raped the woman, but you live in a dream world if you think every parent out there is going to raise their kids not to rape. We have too many young men who have been brought up without fathers and too many parents who have kids and shouldn't have them. There are many parents out there who just don't care. They have kids and let them run wild. Unless you have a magic formula to get kids brought up in good homes, we will always have crime.

I think it empowers a woman to be able to defend herself. A woman shouldn't be forced to surrender to a rapist if she is ever in that situation. She should have a gun or pepper spray or something so the creep doesn't get away and can hurt another woman. I am a woman and have experience in martial arts and I am dang proud of it. If a guy tries to rape me, I am going to beat the heck out of him. I am also hoping to buy a gun for personal protection because I don't want to be in a situation where I have to surrender to a rapist.

No one says boys will get a free pass but it's too late for the raped girl.

There was a documentary of some idiot who attempted to live with bears. He was eaten because one bear could not control himself. Later the rangers shot that bear.

But in the end, it's much easier to teach people to avoid bears than to teach bears not to eat people.

My daughter's friend was raped. Or she claimed to be raped. She went to a party and got drunk with some boys at 16. Now she's a lesbian (or claims she is).

In the end, I've known many such cases throughout my life. And I've heard men/boys talk. And I've been through a war. Trust me, I can fill a book with women being raped. Some of them are unavoidable but if the woman acts stupid and goes to those kinds of parties, she's playing with fire.

I also have lost faith in the American man to do anything, even if his daughter was raped. I imagine they'd dial 911 and cry about it if the guy is acquitted.

Sometimes a ray of sunshine through the clouds is still a cloudy day. But otherwise good story.

I'm confused about your position on the american man. Is he a total wuss that calls 911 and cries . . OR a knuckle dragger that rapes and cannot control his basic instincts?

They appear to be two polar opposites.
