But it is indicative of HOW MUCH in total that they spend.

You telling me they can't cut the Nat'l Endowment of the Arts? or corrupt Fannie Mae?

Two stories mentioned on C-D...
$427 mil to Brazil for the Afghan army defense
$250 mil to Egypt

We can't say - sorry guys, we have no money?

How much is going to green energy projects with suspect technology?

I think this qualifies.

FAA says 173 air traffic control towers will close on April 7

The federal government will close 173 air traffic control towers at small- and medium-size airports on April 7 because of forced spending cuts, the Federal Aviation Administration told tower operators Tuesday. It will close another 16 towers on September 30, the end of the fiscal year.

...
"We're extremely discouraged and disappointed that the FAA is taking this action," Dickerson said. "The rest of the FAA's budget is getting a 5% haircut; the contract towers are getting a 75% cut, because the FAA is cutting 189 of the 251 contract towers."

"It's hard for us to see the fairness in the budget cuts. It seems the contract tower program is taking a high, disproportionate cut. We have serious concerns about the safety, efficiency and loss of jobs in almost 150 communities across the country," he said.
of course and the sky is really falling this time and chicken Little is going to grow to be about 10 ft tall!!!

When you have $10 in your pocket, and you spend $40, it's eventually going to catch up with you. Bring on the cuts. I think it has to hurt before people can wise up and say "oh, so that's what happens when you give all of our tax money away to your friends."

This is what people voted for. Maybe the sky needs to fall before we can pick up the pieces and start over.

Just as that email stated, the Obama WH wants, WANTS to make it painful. They are playing politics and not being serious with this country and its people. They have told all agencies to make it painful. That tells you all you need to know about this Administration and the morons who support it. They do not care about you, this country, the poor, what is right or wrong. They have an agenda, and that is all that matters.

That email and their actions say it all.

Remember that this sequestration isn't cutting anything. Govenment spending has been going up an average of 9% every year from 2008 to 2011. If that trend continues, this sequestration turns it from a 9% increase to a 7% increase this year.

But it's still an INCREASE in govt spending. Not a cut.

So, with an increase of 7% in govt spending due to sequestration... explain to me why the govt has to close 186 air traffic control towers?

Yep. And please someone explain how we keep 3 Calligraphers on staff for a $300k total salary. Why the hell are we not actually cutting government spending?!?! That is the real issue here. Obama and company want it to hurt the American people. Even though they know damn well we can actually make many, many cuts to the government that are not going to interfere with the public. They dont want to budget, they dont want to cut stupid programs, useless positions.

They don't want cuts; they never intended to make any cuts.
So this will be as public and as painful as possible to get a point across.

There will be no cuts in the Federal Government.
