How sweet, now people can use their Obamasmartphones to file housing complaints.
(I just saw a Cricket ad in Spanish promoting subsidized smartphones with unlimited everything for $21.50 ('with help from the government') per month.)
I guess some people are still racists, and some still practice discrimination in the areas of housing and employment.
It would be nice to really think racism is a thing of the past, but it's not completely dead yet, every once in awhile, it rears it's ugly little head.
The app will also be an important tool to assist fair housing groups and other civil rights advocacy organizations in their efforts to help individuals pursue their housing rights and industry to educate their members on their responsibilities. Several groups indicated their intent to promote the app with their members and in communities where they work, including MomsRising, Illinois Department of Human Rights, Access Living, League of United Latin American Citizens, Asian Real Estate Association of America, National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, National Association of Real Estate Brokers, and the National Center for Lesbian Rights.
Sounds more like you're race baiting. What problem exactly do you have with this? Just because it's an Obama administration idea? Or do you have maybe a valid problem?

It's called "empowering the poor". The same way Chavez empowered the poor in his country, that is what Obama is doing. The similarities between Chavez and Obama are eerie. No doubt Obama will leave the same legacy behind. Thank God his term is limited.
Quote:
Despite a rocky economic record and strings of broken or half-filled promises during his 14 years in office, the fundamental legacy of Mr. Chávez is not made of concrete and steel, highways and houses, but something less tangible: he has changed the way Venezuelans think about themselves and their country.
“He has made people [read the article, she's referring to poor people] who didn’t feel they were part of democracy before feel like they’re part of the system,” said Joy Olson, director of the Washington Office on Latin America, an advocacy group. “That hasn’t happened in very many countries. If you look at the United States, poor people don’t feel like they’re very much a part of the system, and he did that.”
No matter how many stupid ideas government implements, if someone wants to deny things to someone, be it a job, housing, etc etc, there will always be a way around it.
Thats how it should be. It's called freedom of choice.
The app is only for minorities? It isn't for anyone who feels that they have been discriminated against? What about a white single mother denied housing? Does the app test for color before the complaint can be filed?
