For those doing a drive by viewing of the false unemployment numbers and jobs figures as devised by the current regime, some further investigation reveals some startling truths. Please do not take the time to bash the source, if you are going to respond, please provide some facts to dispute what you read.

Jobs Numbers: The Truth - Articles - The Sean Hannity Show

- According to CNSNews, the number of Americans designated as "not in the labor force" in February was 89,304,000, a record high, up from 89,008,000 in January, according to the Department of Labor. This means that the number of Americans not in the labor force increased 296,000 between January and February. The fact is that the labor participation rate in our country remains at a record low 63.5%. Just to put that into perspective, when Barack Obama took office, the labor participation rate was 65.7%.

Hey, how dare you post that! It does not support their "Obama is the messiah" mentality. And how many of those jobs are low paying jobs?

I would have never thought Libs would be so happy about low paying jobs lol. Good job Obama, I can now keep my employee pay rates down and they will be thrilled about it too lol.

There's no way to negatively spin a jobs report that adds 236,000 jobs. Just be happy more people are working.

You really won't know until next month how valid that number is.
We'll have to wait and see what the BLS adjustments are.

Last month's adjustment was -40K..they overestimated.

Well, 'not in the labor force' appears to be a bit misleading. It includes those who have retired, students, military (why military I don't know), homemakers, the disabled, and those in prison. We must recall that the Baby Boomers are retiring at a rate of some 10,000 per day, hence they are no longer 'in the labor force'.

You simply do not have 90 million people looking for work. I believe the current people looking for work is around 12 million (still a lot).

I guess with the drop in the birth rate and the high number of Boomers retiring, the 'not in the labor force' number will increase each year.

What are the reasons behind the drop in the Labor Force? Retirement? People Dying? What?

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/07/op...bump.html?_r=0

Quote:
With more than 200,000 boomers exiting the labor force each month through retirement, the rule of thumb that the economy needs to add 140,000 jobs per month to keep up with population growth no longer holds. The new normal is 100,000, which is why 150,000 new jobs a month has brought the unemployment rate from 9.5 percent to 7.9 percent over the last two years
Having a recession and a slow economy does not help those who remain in the labor force but those labor force numbers have other factors affecting them besides "Obama" (who really has nothing to do positively or negatively with anything).
