I'll say this though...I'm willing to go along with painful entitlement cuts so long as the pain is spread out somewhat equally.
There should be no cuts whatsoever. We paid for these benefits over decades of a working lifetime. We have paid for and deserve them when we qualify.

+1

the cuts have to come from military spending. We spend more on the military than every other country on the planet COMBINED. It is obscene.

Not possible if we're gonna save them for our progeny.

Yes there should be
The money you paid in is GONE.

The money you will be collecting with be paid for by the future generations.
It is now welfare.

Nobody likes how its turned out. But whats done is done. Either fix the problem or pass it off to a later generation 10x worse.

B.S.
We do have a military bigger than the rest of the world combined though. All our toys are expensive.

And our military spending is only slightly more than welfare spending.
We NEED welfare cuts as well as defense.

If there is one thing the parties can all agree on, it is screwing the working people. We must not allow this to happen.

Why the hell did you vote for him if you don't trust him?

Then first start with removing benefits for the immigrants that come here, work a few years and then qualify for SSI, medicare and social security. Remove them first before coming after citizens who have worked their whole lives here.

Rand Paul 2016
There is NO NO NO problem to fix by cutting benefits. Any problems with these programs are caused by CONGRESS and not the people who have paid into them for life. Do not be fooled. For one thing there are millions of people on Social Security Disability that should not be there. I see them all the time on Judge Judy (one of the few people with the guts to ferret out this crap). You are supposed to be TOTALLY disabled and unable to perform ANY type of work. I would argue that if you have the ability to get on an airplane, fly to California and stand there on a TV show, you damn well can work! And I see these lawyer ads on late night TV all the time that say crap like "are you a chronic drunk or does your ear itch a lot? you can get Social Security Disability!". The government needs to review EVERY case on Social Security Disability and kick about 3/4ths of the people on it off! Another example is that Congress meddles in Medicare and does things like force it to pay high prices for drugs (the VA which can negotiate drug prices pays about 50% less for them) and for power scooter chairs for people that would do fine with a cane or a regular wheel chair (which is why you also see all those TV ads from the Scooter Store). This is the kind of crap that needs to be reformed. Not the people that have earned their benefits working for 40 or more years and paying in. Don't believe the hype!
