Smoking bans in restaurant's where a smoker forces other non smoker customers to breath their crap is a good thing. You don't have the right to make me breath your crap. But you drinking a soda does nothing to me. I agree drinking sugar laden crap is bad for your health, but is not my job nor the governments to tell you you can't. Tax it? Sure fine, but don't tell people they can not have it or how much they can have.

Labels on food to tell you how much crap is in it or calorie counts fine good. Education on how to eat? Great idea, but don't tell me or some kid they can't have a cupcake. Try healthy foods for kids? Great idea, but do not make it illegal to have a twinkie on the shelf of the local walmart. Its state control gone wild.
Some people, like Bloomberg, go into politics because they want to force their views down everyone's throat. They are self anointed masterminds, who think that any thought that comes into their heads must be accepted by, and followed by everyone else, and the best way to accomplish this is thru the force and power of government.

Of course, in order for these masterminds to get away with these mandates against the public, they need useful idiots who want complete strangers to make their decisions for them.

I dont know enough about the ban but can I still get a 32 ounce cup for a diet cola? It's got no sugar and if 16 ounce or smaller is because of "sugary" drinks, then I feel a little discriminated against

I have a big problem with anyone, telling me what I can and can't buy, or own.

There is only kings privilege and kings corruption, in that equation.

I seem to have that same problem.

Maybe they should ban French desserts.

Well If a person doesn't know by now that:

Driving a car while not wearing a seat belt

Driving a motorcycle without wearing a helmet

there's no hope for them.

How about all those other laws that infringe on your personal liberties to protect YOU while whatever it is they're attempting to address has no ill effect on others?

Can't rent a scuba tank without the proper certificate? Why the hell not? You want to drown yourself; have at it.

Idiots may know what's bad for them but behave stupidly regardless which ends up costing you in terms of resources available to treat you when you REALLY need and DESERVE it.

Bloomberg could have saved more lives by crafting a city ordinace prohibiting texting or the wearing of ear buds while within the city limits. Stupid azzhats are walking out into traffic and into open manholes fer chrisake!

There's a difference between a liberal and a statist. Bloomberg is a statist.

Haha, it is too funny seeing how people on C-D see a guy like Bloomberg when the city of New York doesn't function the way you all seem to think it does.

It is a shame the soda ban was overturned, but at the same time it isn't a big deal seeing most people here drink soda in the can.
